This committee is responsible as an advisory body, composed of one (1) board member, one (1) Chamber member, and one (1) student intern, to provide strategic guidance on communication-related matters. The committee focuses on aligning the Chamber’s communication strategies with its long-term vision while respecting the operational autonomy of the Chamber staff and leadership. The committee meets at least twice in a fiscal year with the President/CEO and Marketing director.

The purpose of the committee is to offer strategic advice and high-level oversight of the Chambers’s communication initiative to ensure they are aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term objectives. The committee’s role is to enhance the Chamber’s visibility and reputation WITHOUT interfering with daily operations or staff responsibilities.

  • Provide guidance and positive constructive feedback on communication strategies.
  • Non-interference in participating or managing the day-to-day operations of the Chamber’s communication or interfering with the staff’s execution of communication activities.
  • Foster collaboration between the board, Chamber leadership, and staff, ensuring transparency and shared understanding of communication goals.
  • Ensure that the Chamber’s brand messaging is consistent across all platforms and communications.
  • Discuss how to increase the Chamber’s presence across various platforms, without stepping into day-to-day activities.
  • Promote the Chamber’s role as a community leader by advising on public messaging during key events and community engagements.
