Adult students will be introduced to the fundamentals of the acoustic guitar. Classes will introduce the basics of how to tune, hold and play the instrument, along with learning basic techniques of chords and rhythm that make a song. This allows students to play and perform basic folk and blues chord progressions on the acoustic guitar. There will be group instruction and breakout sessions where students will apply all techniques learned. By the end of the class, students will be able to demonstrate the ability to recognize and play chord progressions as well as have knowledge of basic guitar chords.

This course is designed for adults, 18 years and older.

Students are responsible for providing their own 6-string acoustic guitar, and guitar picks. Additional materials will be provided by the instructor.

*Guitars need to be in playable condition and must be able to be tuned properly. It is highly recommended that students have their instruments set up and adjusted by a qualified guitar repair shop, prior to taking this class. Black Mountain Guitar in Cave Creek has a qualified Luthier on staff to do this work as well as be a resource for any guitar related accessories.
