The Town of Carefree invites residents and visitors to attend “25 Years Later: Together We Remember,” a special community gathering honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognizing the courage and sacrifice of those who responded. The event will take place Friday, September 11, at 6 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, located at 33 Easy Street, Carefree, AZ 85377.
Held in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the evening will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance and connection. Featured speaker Bob Jenkins, a World Trade Center survivor, will share his personal story, and attendees will be invited to share their own memories and experiences from that historic day.
Community members are encouraged to bring photographs, newspaper clippings, and other September 11 memorabilia to contribute to a collaborative memory board. Guests may also write personal reflections on provided cards, which will become part of a commemorative display that will later be framed and permanently exhibited in the Town Council Chambers.
Together we will pay tribute to those who were lost, recognize the heroes who served others in a time of crisis, and help carry the legacy of September 11 forward for future generations.
