Over 30 years ago the Kiwanis Club of Carefree started a fundraising event where they sold used household goods to help give back to the children’s programs in the Cave Creek/Carefree community. This “yard sale” grew and grew until they were able to open the Kiwanis Marketplace Thrift Store in 2014.
Today, the Kiwanis Marketplace continues to serve this community by selling gently used furniture, household, clothing, electronics, and many other items in our store at a fraction of the cost of regular retail.
We have a donation center where a friendly attendant will accept donations at our store. We also service the community by going into people’s homes and businesses in the area throughout the week for donations.
The Kiwanis Marketplace is a friendly environment and a fun place to volunteer whether it’s for 3 days a week or a couple hours a month. We appreciate all our volunteers.
Because of the amazing community we serve, the Kiwanis club was able to donate more than $500,000 in scholarships last year and over $1.2 million dollars back to the community programs.
