Geology of Arizona

Join us for adventures as we explore the Clay Mine! Once inside the mind we’ll discuss the history of this site and how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Soul of Broadway Holiday

Spanish Offerings

Intermediate Conversational Spanish. Informal chat session using various books, flashcards, etc. Some weeks feature a half-hour episode of the Destinos series on DVD. Followed by discussion in Spanish. No instructor, no registration.

Qigong/Tai Chi Easy

Regular Class: 8:45  – 9:45 a.m. Gentle Class: 10 – 10:30 a.m. A discipline that can be practiced and benefits gained at any age. You are never too old! A blending of Qigong and Tai Chi, with deep breathing and repeated gentle motions and stretches to improve health, balance, agility, and flexibility. Friday Fitness Hike

Get your day started with a 2-3 mile brisk non-interpretive walk through the conservation area. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. (moderate)

Find the Ranger

This open-house style program features the park ranger hiking along the Metate Trail and stopping to talk with park visitors. Your job is to find him. The ranger will have photos of dessert animals as well as some old photos of the Spur Cross Guest Ranch from back in its heyday. The ranger will also be available to answer any questions you may have about the park, discuss park history and help identify plants and animals. (easy)
