Multimedia Specialist CtL
Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Carefree, AZ is looking for a Multimedia Specialist who can produce live streamed weekly Sunday services and other special events. In addition, we are looking for an individual who can create promotional graphics, a social media presence and maintain the Church website.
AVL Requirements:
- Need to be familiar with PTZ multi camera live stream system.CtL is working with a DataVideo system that includes a Dual Streaming Encoder, 6 channel video switcher and three PTZ cameras. In addition to the DataVideo equipment CtL has two Canon cameras that can be included into the stream setup if so desired.
- The audio board is an Allen&Heath 16 channel mixer that is integrated with an iPad. Current space can have up to 10 microphones during any given service.
- Services and special events are streamed through YouTube and the YouTube channel is embedded on the church website.
- Need to setup weekly live streams via YouTube.
Promotional Requirements:
- Edit and maintain WordPress website.
- Edit and maintain Facebook social posting and engagement.
- Create promotional material for events. This will include graphics to be used for the website, social media, handouts and posters.
- Create and maintain a marketing strategy to stay in front of current members and attract engagement from potential new members.
- Recruit, train and schedule church members or other volunteers to learn to operate the video and audio equipment required to assist when needed for services or other programs and special events.
This is a 20 – 25 hour per week position which can be accomplished both in person and remotely. The technician would work closely with our office administrator.

Retreat Center Host Couple – Hope Restored, AZ

The Host/Hostess position exists to provide hospitality for all guests at FMI Retreat Center, ensuring each guest is welcomed and FMI can appropriately respond to any needs or concerns that a guest may have. The Host Couple is generally required to stay on the property overnight, for a specified number of nights.
The Host Couple position is designed for a husband-and-wife team to offer physical, spiritual, and emotional support to our guest couples as they walk through the challenging journey of our marriage intensives. This often involves sharing their own personal marriage journeys and praying with guests who are having difficulty working through the pain and struggle of their broken marriages as well as flexibility with facilitating evening activities as desired by the guests (building fires, playing games, conversing, etc.).
This position offers a $500 hiring bonus. The bonus will be paid to the hired candidate half after 30 days ($250) and half upon the successful completion of 6 months of work ($250). Employees must be active and in good standing at the time of bonus payout to be eligible for hiring bonuses.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Is in the lobby by 7:30am
- Greets every person by name, when possible, and makes conversation, prays for and with guests
- Ensures common areas are arranged appropriately and items are put away from the night before
- When temperature is below 40 degrees, starts fires in various fireplaces at specified times
- Tries to join a “new” couple in an individual program for their first meal
- Performs maintenance and cleaning needs for the week, as needed
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- May perform additional maintenance and cleaning including sweeping, emptying trash, watering plants inside and outside, lawn care, weeding, water softener maintenance, changing and charging batteries, replenishing supplies, and laundry, as needed
- Responds to any conflicts with guests ensuring that everyone feels safe
- Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- Stays for specified number of nights in lodging on property

The Facilities Technician – Hope Restored, AZ position exists to provide stewardship for all aspects of serving couples through landscaping and maintenance. Requires occasional supervision and refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
General Maintenance:
- Maintains Hospitality Center, Chapel, guest cabins, and pavilion
- Prioritizes campus-wide preventative maintenance and predictive repairs
- Repairs indoor and outdoor light fixtures and replaces bulbs
- Monitors and maintains water storage tank, wellhouse, and well
- Makes minor carpentry repairs
- Repairs minor plumbing problems as directed
- Maintains water softener and water filtration systems, replacing filters and adding salt on a regular basis
- Hauls and stocks firewood and cleans fire pit
- Maintains parking areas
- Plumbing: Leak resolution, fixture replacement, toilet maintenance and repair
- Collects drinking water samples for bacteriological analysis and any certification/training
- Maintains fire extinguishers
- Maintains and cleans HVAC systems and replaces filters regularly, many of which are in attics and tight spaces requiring crawling in confined spaces and use of an extension ladder
- Maintains property, facilities, sidewalks, parking areas, and trails so they are safe and secure for clients, guests, and employees
- Maintains and organizes all tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks
- Maintains and fuels campus vehicles, including guest shuttle and UTV
Landscaping:
- Removes, trims, and maintains trees as needed
- Maintains road and parking lot and maintains the appearance of the grounds
- Maintains sidewalks and keeps free of debris
- Cleans and maintains building exteriors
- Ongoing plant and yard care, irrigation system management and repair
- Pressure washes sidewalks
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs minor facility and equipment repairs
- Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling issues and liaises with contractors if needed
- Serves as consultant to GM on mechanical, grounds, and facility as needed
- Stocks/maintains garage and all storage areas
- Works with and provides access to vendors for various trades
- Works with Hospitality team in all areas of hospitality, including cleaning cabins, chapel, and Hospitality Center as needed
- Assists with serving guests, cooking, and kitchen cleaning as needed

Foothills Caring Corps has issued an immediate call for volunteers to help in their mission to promote independence and enhance the quality of life of elderly residents in the Northeast Valley. The 501(c)3 based in Carefree, Arizona loses a significant number of volunteers when they return to their part-time homes during the summer. Foothills Caring Corps needs additional recruits to not only fill the seasonal gap but also to help with the community’s growing need for senior services.
Come to the Volunteer Orientation at Foothills Caring Corps at 7275 E. Easy Street, Suite B103/104 in Carefree to find out how you can be a vital help to those in our community who need some assistance to continue to live independently in their homes. The Orientation session provides information about our organization, its programs/services, volunteering tips, policies, and guidelines. RM is an Equine Therapy ranch with horses and dogs so comfort in that environment will be helpful.

Volunteer Opportunities at new Dementia Care and Education Campus
Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Care and Education Campus is opening in early 2022 at 44th Street and Indianola Avenue in Phoenix. This campus will be a place where people can live life to the fullest and receive exceptional care for all types of dementia. From the earliest stages to the most advanced, loved ones and their caregivers will receive compassionate support and education to help ease a challenging journey.
A big component of this beautiful care comes from volunteers who visit with patients and families. We invite you to join our volunteer family and truly change lives with your companionship, conversation and laughter. The campus also has a need for volunteers with professional talents — licensed/certified hair stylists, nail artists and yoga instructors who enjoy pampering someone with a relaxing experience that lifts or calms the spirit.

Hospice of the Valley is recruiting volunteers to support military families
A national program that matches people in communities across the country with veterans who need support is now available in the Phoenix area through Hospice of the Valley.
Volunteers who join the ASU-based program, called Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families, receive special training in caregiving support from Hospice of the Valley. They provide companionship to patients, socialization and in-home respite care that allows caregivers to take a much-needed break. In return, Legacy Corps volunteers receive a monthly allowance and a college tuition award after a year of service. Those who are 55 or older can pass this award to a child or grandchild.
