“What catches my eye is the effect light has on form whether striking, fleeting or subtlety changing.” Betty Carr’s book, Seeing the Light, An Artist’s Guide, discusses impressionistic techniques for capturing light in a painting and illustrates these aspects in her approaches to painting. “I strive for confident, enthusiastic brushwork, the maximizing of color’s value and intensity range, and a fresh painterly approach, the result appearing effortless.”
Betty Carr received her MFA at San Jose State University. She is a Master Artist in the American Impressionist Society and a signature member of the Arizona Plein Air Painters.
