Solstices are our planet’s longest and shortest days of the year. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, when the North Pole is tilted most directly toward the Sun, June 21st marks our Summer Solstice. This day brings the most hours of sunlight and the brightest day of the year. Both the Summer and Winter Solstices, along with the Autumn and Vernal Equinoxes, serve to guide us in the changing of the seasons.
