On display from March 21st to May 9th with a reception on April 13, 4:00-5:30 pm
The Desert Foothills Gallery is proud to present an enticing display of outstanding art work from two former local artists.
Richard Mocco, who lived in Harmony Hollow near the banks of Cave Creek, found his paradise in Arizona after living in New York City where he studied at the prestigious Pratt Institute earning a BFA in 1967 and an MFA in 1969. In 1970 he founded Mocco Enterprises, a research and design firm doing jewelry, sculpture, drawing and painting all recognized nationwide. Having prepared for a career in education, he taught at Pratt and other New York based learning centers. Mocco relocated to Cave Creek in 1973 where he was a founding member and president of the Cave Creek Crafts Council which later became the Sonoran Arts League.
Catherine Ann Otis was a master printmaker for over 65 years, doing etching and monoprints. She also painted lovely oils and all of her work was creative, colorful and highly skilled. Ann’s work is humorous and often uses juxtaposition of differing ideas. Ann has exhibited nationally and internationally while receiving many awards and prizes, including first place at the Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival. Those of us who worked with and loved Ann knew how important art was in her life and welcome the opportunity to see her exquisite prints and paintings one more time!
